Collaboration is key to ensuring Navajo veterans receive the support and resources they deserve. Diné Naazbaa Partnership (DNP) frequently collaborates with veteran Cecelia Sandoval, Vice Commander of the National American Indian Veterans. Cecelia has been instrumental in securing essential medical equipment for veterans on the Navajo Nation.
As DNP planned its February 2025 Stand Down event, Cecelia remained a valuable partner, keeping us informed about available resources. In early February, with our approaching Stand Down in mind, Cecelia reached out to the DNP team to inform us that she was traveling to Phoenix, AZ, to pick up wheelchairs, bath chairs, walkers, and canes from Arizona Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA). She ensured that DNP had first priority to receive these much-needed items to distribute.
DNP Case Coordinator Karen Shirley soon after traveled to Cecelia to retrieve the equipment. DNP is grateful for the generosity of Arizona PVA and the dedication of Cecelia Sandoval, whose commitment to veterans continues to make a lasting impact. By working together, we can bridge gaps in resources and improve the lives of those who have served.
